Mixes...Crystal Antlers...

So, met with Aaron from Anavan tonight and got the notes all down on how we want to tweak the mixes...It's getting close my kiddies. Wait. Also got another date locked in Oakland for the tour at this rad place called The House of Nostromo. Seems like the place to play for sheeeezzz. Also, we are battling Anavan at The Smell on 6/26, it's a show that I am putting on...getting others booked now...It's going to rule!!

A night to chill...

So, finally I can relax a bit...Clay, my bud from Tokyo is gone. We are planning to write and keep Mock Duck going, make a myspace page and shit and he wants to move here now. He made me remember how rad it is to live in L.A., to be in such a neat scene with great bands, and to have ample opportunities to do rad shit.

So, TPF! has an EP coming stilllll....we have been mixing for a while now and it is taking forever to get it to where we are stoked on it, it's getting close though.

This week I am going to see White Denim and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart at Spaceland, it's on Wednesday. Other than that I am chillin' and practicing.

We got a lock out!!! Our buds Stab City were going to share it with us but they can't now, so if any of you know a band that will share it with us in Echo Park, hit me up...

Saw The Homosexuals twice in the past two days....once at a house party and once at The Echo, they were good. Legends man.

10 Day Binge....PRE!!!!

So, my buddy Clay is here still from Japan. We played in a band called Mock Duck there, and we have played 3 shows this week, Mexicali Mexico that I talked about before, and just last night at the 580 House in Pasadena AND The Vermont House at like 2:30 in the morning. I am tired as hell.
Well, went see PRE, Foot Village, The Mae Shi, and Past Lives the other night. So fucking fun. I love good shows, this one got me so psyched. All was well besides me being drunk and flirting with Akiko from PRE in front of my girl, but she thought it was funny that I had a rock star crush. Here are some pics. Back to the USA.

So, Mock Duck, my band from Tokyo, and Halloween Swim Team went together in HST's van and played Mexico on Saturday. TPF! couldn't go and a lot of people were bummed about it. But, hey, it's nice that they at least cared:) Pepper, TPF guitar, came too. The show was totally packed. They were making people wait outside because it was at capacity. Everyone was so kind. We all got trashed until 6:30am on buckets of Tecates. We had no problem crossing the border or coming back, crashed at a cheap hotel, woke up at 10:45am, and drove back. It was nice to hang with HST, they are great. I didn't bring a camera so I will try to round up some pics and post em later. (HERE IS THE LINK FOR SOME PICS)

Looks like we have one show booked for the tour. It's with Moon Cadillac and Sheena from Santa Cruz. It's at The Crepe Place in S.C. A ton more to go.......

SO, we were going to play this rad show, but...alas...we can't. I will be playing with Mock Duck though and Halloween Swim Team, our label mates, are playing instead of TPF!. We, Mock Duck, are rolling with them in their van. Should be a rad time!!!!

SO, yeah, we haven't been doing much right now besides waiting on the mix to be done...Justin (bass) whipped up a basic web site for us...we haven't practiced in a couple weeks, but we are getting ready for the big push here in the next weeks and will be rehearsing often and getting tight...here is the cover again...


My Canadian buddy who I lived and played in a band with in Japan (he still lives there) is coming to visit for 10 days starting this Friday and we are getting together to play some shows, Mock Duck reunion shows! Wooooo!

Going to Mexico this weekend with Halloween Swim Team adn Mock Duck...more on that later.

SO, going to this tonight to see our label mates and best buddies Narwhal Party at the Vermont House. T.V.H. has been great to us over the past year and they have been doing great shows lately with MSR bands, well Halloween Swim Team lives there so that helps. Anyway, finished mixing tonight, almost. It sounds titties.

Lovvers...house show/Clipd Beaks

So, we were going to play a show with Lovvers from the U.K. at a house in Santa Ana either tonight or tomorrow. The house that is was going to be at wasn't available so it will be at a different house, if it happens at all. It would be cool to play with Lovvers, they have been getting some love lately, and I like them quite a bit. Check our myspace for further details if it happens. They are playing The Smell on Monday too anyway with our label mates Mega Wand, awsomeness Mika Miko, and Oakland's via MN Clipd Beaks. Good show!

SO, our producer has left the building. He is going on tour. It's up to us to do the final mix and mastering. I think we can do it just fine...

So, planning this tour is a bit difficult, it is in June so we have plenty of time, but with the type of shows we want to play; DIY, House, All Ages etc... many of the people helping us are not interested in booking for June quite yet...so the waiting game continues... I want to play with White Fang in Portland.

SO, got the mix done pretty much, one more night to go. It is being mixed by Justin Bates. He has mixed all sort of LA artists like Anavan, Steve Aoki, even Snoop! Here we are listening to the mixes....

Sucks too because I wanted to go see Mika Miko and The Mae Shi at UCLA tonight and then head over to Cha Cha Lounge and see my buddy Preston spin some ipod. It's every Wednesday though, I'll catch the next one.

SO, the show at the Mountain bar with Anavan was the shiz. It was a packed room full of craziness. Here are some pics of Aaron from Anavan in the crowd and me...HA! See that beer, about half of it spilled all over everyone.
